Begin your thrilling adventure here to discover all that the spectacular city offers; marvel at the main square, cathedral, beautiful architecture, and Presidential Palace. Move onwards to see the world-famous sights of Machu Picchu and the Sacred Valley.

Along the way you will fly from the vibrant city of La Paz to reach Buenos Aires, Argentina’s capital. Take time to explore Plaza de Mayo, Recoleta cemetery, Cathedral of Bueno Aires, and the brightly-painted houses of La Boca District. Iguacu and the splendid sights of Rio de Janeiro await you next; take in Iguacu Falls, Iguacu National Park, and Sugarloaf Mountain.

On Day 18 make your way back to the UK with so many brilliant memories from your trip.

Itinerary

Day 1 - UK to Lima

Today you will fly to Peru's capital, Lima, and travel via São Paulo.

Day 2 - Lima

On arrival in Lima today you will be transferred to your hotel in the heart of the Miraflores district to enjoy an overnight stay.

Day 3 - Lima & Cuzco

This morning's included tour will allow you to really get to know the city of Lima. Spectacularly positioned overlooking the Pacific Ocean, the city is often referred to as the 'City of Kings' and was founded in 1535 by the Spanish Conquistador, Francisco Pizarro, and eventually became the capital of the whole Spanish colony. The highlight of your tour will be a visit to the main square, where you'll be able to discover the Presidential Palace, the cathedral, and the Metropolitan City Gall. Much of the beautiful architecture has barely changed since the 17th century, while the influence of the Incas and native Indians can also be noticed. Into the afternoon you will transfer to the airport for your flight to Cuzco.

Day 4 - Cuzco

The 'Imperial City' of Cuzco awaits you today, once the capital of the Inca Empire and is now a brilliant combination of ancient and colonial architecture. The highlights of your tour this morning includes a visit to the elegant Plaza de Armas at the heart of the city, as well as the impressive cathedral. The Inka's Expression Workshop is next and will show you artisans hard at work.

Day 5 - Machu Picchu

Next on the agenda is a trip to the phenomenal 'Lost City' of Machu Picchu today. Rediscovered in 1911, this Inca treasure perches itself above a steep valley swarmed in jungle surroundings. Your journey to the ruined city is by narrow gauge railway with an onward journey by bus. At the top of the misted mountain you will set off with a local guide and go for a stroll, where they will introduce the splendour of Machu Picchu. There will be plenty of time afterwards to explore this breathtaking citadel at leisure. The small town of Aguas Calientes awaits you next, which is nestled in a valley beneath this brilliant site. You will have lunch here before making your way to the Sacred Valley by train.

Day 6 - Sacred Valley

Today brings you a visit to the vibrant Indian market in Pisac. Pick up many unique souvenirs here to treasure from your holiday and take the time to mingle with the locals. Browse the market for rugs, wool clothing, and locally-made handicrafts. Later today you will make your return to Cuzco.

Day 7 - Cuzco to Puno

Hit the road early this morning and head onwards to Puno, on the shores of Lake Titicaca. This route will include a stop at La Raya pass, which acts as a natural boundary between Cuzco and Puno and sits 4,300 metres above sea level. You'll find this is a great spot for observing the snow-capped Andes, so be sure to have your camera at the ready for plenty of photo opportunities. A stop at the Inca ruins in Raqchi is also on the itinerary, where you'll discover a stunning decorated 17th-century church.

Day 8 - Puno & La Paz

Begin your day with a cruise across Lake Titicaca to Sun Island, which is known for being the legendary birthplace of the Inca Empire. Step ashore to check out the Inca Garden, steps, and fountain before heading to the Inti Wata Cultural Complex. Here you'll be able to admire the Titicaca Reed Shipbuilders display and visit the Ekako Underground Museum. Enjoy a delicious buffet lunch as you cruise back to the harbour and then your journey will continue by road to the Bolivian city of La Paz.

Day 9 - La Paz

The intriguing city of La Paz offers lots to do and see and sits high above sea level and is stunningly framed by the three-peaked Illimani Mountain. A plethora of hidden treasures lurk around every corner and on your full-day tour you will discover the many gems including the Indian Market and fascinating Witch Doctor's Market. Find many stalls here filled with charms and potions that promise to ward off evil spirits. Moon Valley and its lunar landscape of canyons and spires will fascinate you next; hop on a cable car from one end of La Paz to the other for spectacular views of the city and the mountains that surround it.

Day 10 - La Paz & Buenos Aires

You will transfer to the airport for our flight to Buenos Aires and arrive in the afternoon. The 'Paris of the Americas' is Argentina's thrilling capital and boasts pretty tree-lined boulevards along with mesmerising 19th-century architecture. Head out to explore or simply relax and enjoy the facilities at your hotel.

Day 11 - Buenos Aires

Check out the sights of Buenos Aires on a tour that will take you to Plaza de Mayo, where the Government House sits. The Cathedral of Bueno Aires is also settled in the square, where the tomb of General San Martin is located. Your adventure extends to the La Boca District which is famously known for its brightly-painted houses, and is now an artists' colony. The final stop today is the Recoleta cemetery, famous for its impressive family tombs and as the burial place of Eva Peron. Take the option this evening to tuck into a traditional dinner and exciting tango show.

Day 12 - Buenos Aires

You have plenty of free time today to explore as you wish. Perhaps take a stroll back into Buenos Aires and take in more of the magnificent sites at your own pace. Alternatively, join in with one of the optional excursions that will be available. Your Tour Manager will be able to help you with all of the details.

Day 13 - Buenos Aires/Iguacu

Transfer to the airport this morning for your flight to Iguaçú, home of the famous waterfalls, which span Argentina and Brazil.

Day 14 - Iguacu

Spend today exploring as you please. Check out the area at leisure, or choose to join a full-day excursion into the Iguaçú National Park and the Argentinian side of the Iguaçú Falls. Situated at the meeting point of Brazil, Paraguay and Argentina, they are a memorable sight and considered one of the world's largest natural wonders. Iguaçú consists of 275 separate falls and about three-quarters of the total length is on this side. Walk into the heart of Devil's Throat, the best-known of the individual falls and the walkways take you sometimes within arm’s length of the thundering waters for a completely unique experience.

Day 15 - Iguacu to Rio de Janeiro

See the Iguaçú Falls from the Brazilian side today. Despite being smaller than the Argentinian side, you can take in the full panorama of these immense falls as you find your place on special walkways. Transfer to the airport this afternoon for your flight to Rio de Janeiro.

Day 16 - Rio de Janeiro

Truly unique, Rio de Janeiro is exploding with energy, excitement, and plenty to entertain. For an introduction to the city head into Corcovado, which is home to the famous statue of Christ the Redeemer. It is listed as one of the New Seven Wonders of the World, stands 38 metres high, and was built in 1931. In order to reach the statue it is necessary to ascend via a small cog railway which winds up the mountain for breathtaking views over Rio and Sugarloaf Mountain. Take the option this afternoon to view Rio from another fabulous vantage point, Sugarloaf Mountain. Travel to the lofty heights of the mountain by cable car on an unforgettable journey.

Day 17 - Rio de Janeiro to UK

Enjoy a free day in Rio to discover everything at your own pace. If you wish to kick back and soak up the sun you are ideally placed as your hotel boasts an impressive spot on the world-famous Copacabana Beach. Its beautiful white sand is lapped by azure waters and is guaranteed to prove irresistible. This evening transfer to the airport for your flight back to the UK.

You will arrive back in the UK today with many amazing memories to treasure from your tour adventure.
